  1. Sends an event to the Finder telling it to quit all of the open programs and then shut down your mac.

  3. This is the exact same action that occurs when ‚ÄúShut Down‚Äù is chosen from the Finder‚Äôs ‚ÄúSpecial‚Äù menu.

  5. Hides the floating window that you clicked on to show this menu.
  6.  
  7. Edit the preferences for faster ways to hide and show this window (the Strip bar.)

  9. Quits all of the open programs except for the Finder.

  11. If you have set an application to not be quit in the preferences, it will be left running.
